For the past 10+ years, revenue assurance (RA) has been associated with reducing the level of revenue “leakage” from the flow of data between a CSP’s systems and through its business processes, most notably within the billing and partner management functions. As problems were identified and resolved, new ones were recognized and the role of RA expanded. For most organizations today, in addition to traditional revenue leakage issues, RA includes fixed and variable cost analysis weighed against collected revenue—margin analysis.
