GCI Automates Carrier Cost Management with Razorsight
FAIRFAX, VA – January 22, 2007 – Razorsight Corporation, a market leader and innovator of spend management and payables automations software, today announced it has been selected by GCI to fully automate its processing and workflow surrounding management of communications carrier costs. Razorsight's Automated Invoice Management (AIM) Telecom software captures every line item detail on paper and electronic invoices, thereby transforming unusable spend or cost data into a rich, standardized electronic output. AIM Telecom enables robust analytics, audit and customized reporting capabilities while bringing all cost data into a single, homogenous database. Razorsight’s application suite includes extensive audit, dispute, reconciliation, and allocation functionality and seamlessly integrates with GCI’s ERP system for invoice payment. Combined with AIM’s robust workflow and reporting, the system will provide GCI value through increased operating efficiencies and additional savings through comprehensive auditing of all of its paper and electronic invoices.
GCI is a regional integrated communications provider (ICP) serving the Alaska market.
The company has an established statewide long distance business and is the largest telecommunications provider in Alaska. GCI provides facilities-based, competitive local exchange services with direct access to 40 percent of the state’s telephone lines in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau. GCI owns and operates cable television services in 18 of the state’s largest communities, and is the region’s largest Internet Service Provider on both a retail and wholesale basis. In addition, GCI holds statewide narrowband and broadband wireless licenses and uses its own fiber optic, metropolitan area networks and satellite transmission facilities.
“We receive a monthly paper invoice that is regularly over four feet tall,” said Jim Dunlap, GCI’s Executive Vice President of Information Technology. “Razorsight was the only vendor that could process that volume of paper and capture 100% of the detail on every page.”
"AIM Telecom transforms all invoices—electronic and paper—into valuable data, thereby providing complete visibility into a company’s direct costs which impact margin and profits. The AIM Telecom analytics capabilities automate over 200 audits which historically have been done via arduous, manual processes. This has allowed many of the worlds leading communications, media and entertainment providers to save millions while making more informed decisions and improving SOX compliance," said Razorsight CEO Charlie Thomas.
