Bruce Bednarski Joins Razorsight as Senior Vice President of Business Development
Net2000 Co-founders Together Again to Lead Razorsight’s Rapid Growth.
FAIRFAX, VA - September 12, 2006 - Razorsight today announced that Bruce Bednarski has joined the company as senior vice president of business development. In this role, Mr. Bednarski will be responsible for developing strategic relationships around the globe in order to build partner sales and to promote awareness of Razorsight and its unique value proposition.
“Bruce is a key hire for us; he’s going to play a major role in leading Razorsight’s exponential growth. He combines a decades-long career in technology with exceptional contacts, rich industry knowledge and a passion that will energize our channel strategy. We’ve worked together in the past, first at Bell Atlantic and then at Net2000, where we were co-founders and together for nine years. I know firsthand the value that he adds,” said Charlie Thomas, CEO of Razorsight.
Mr. Bednarski has more than 20 years of diverse telecommunications and networking experience complemented by a solid technical foundation, numerous business contacts and sound leadership qualities. He has a proven record of developing business channels and expanding opportunities. Mr. Bednarski joins Razorsight fresh on the heels of another extraordinary entrepreneurial and business success at iDirect Technologies.
Mr. Bednarski began his career as a systems engineer for Nortel Communications (formerly Northern Telecom), where he designed and installed both Central Office-class switching platforms. Mr. Bednarski next served as a member of the systems design team for the United States Senate, where he managed the Senate’s complex telecommunications infrastructure. He developed his technical expertise further at Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic) as a member of the marketing technical support group, where he supported cutting-edge network and fast packet data services at Verizon’s largest clients.
He continued his career by becoming one of the four founding partners of Net2000 Communications. Net2000 grew from a small private company to a public company (NASDAQ – NTKK) with more than 1,000 employees and a market capitalization of more than $1.6 billion at its initial public offering in March 2000. Mr. Bednarski worked intimately in many facets of building the business into a full facilities-based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) with a customer base of 3,000 clients and annual revenues of $150 million.
Following his role at Net2000, Mr. Bednarski joined iDirect Technologies in April 2002 in a board-led effort to restructure the executive management team. Immediately upon arrival, Mr. Bednarski focused on redrafting iDirect’s business plan. Successful execution of the new plan propelled iDirect from a minor position in the VSAT router industry to a leadership role within an extremely short period. During this period, iDirect grew revenues from a 2001 level of $1.5 million to more than $125 million in 2006 with industry-leading gross margin and net income percentage.
Mr. Bednarski holds a B.A. in business administration and an M.B.A. from the University of New Haven (Connecticut). He trained with the United States Olympic Soccer Team in 1978 and received professional status when chosen in the 1982 Major Indoor Soccer League draft.
