Job Description: The Audit Analyst designs and performs detailed financial audits and analyses of client telecommunications expense to identify billing errors and cost optimization opportunities. Senior Audit Analysts have in-depth knowledge of telecommunications expense and telephony in the following areas: Switched and Facility Access, Local Services, IXC Private Line and Usage, Wireless, and Data Services, Internet Protocol (IP), Voice Over IP, MPLS. Audit Analysts leverage knowledge of network topology, general telephony (e.g. call flows), tariff/contract/interconnection agreement analysis and interpretation, and industry billing standards to identify invalid billing and/or other savings opportunities. Audit Analysts must be able to pull or query data form cost management databases and utilize this data to audit for billing errors. They must have high level of attention to details. They are able to use their subject matter expertise to drive greater efficiencies and generating incremental revenue for the company. The successful Audit Analyst demonstrates, initiative, analytical thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit, excellent communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years telecommunications experience in the audit/analytical function
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in SQL, MS Access, MS Excel, and Business Objects or similar programming or analytical tools
Other:
- Position requires minimal travel of up to 25% to client sites for data gathering, client training and delivery of client engagement results.
Experience Required:
- Possess an knowledge of carrier cost management including:
- NGN elements and content
- Access services-facility and switched
- Local services
- Data network (Packet Switching, MPLS)
- Have experience with telco cost management software systems and solutions.
- Strong database SQL or query skills
Core Responsibilities: Perform auditing, reporting, and analysis based on the audit engagement requirements
Conduct and manage the dispute process including creations and filing disputes, rebuttal of denied disputes, resolution of disputes at the detailed level, tracking of outstanding disputes to final resolution, and production of dispute reporting to clients as determined by the contract.
Conduct tariff and contract analysis, reviewing regulatory and rate application changes to identify errors in relation to client’s invoices.
Act as a subject matter expert and liaison between the client and vendor to facilitate and expedite the dispute resolution process.
Provide training and subject matter expertise to internal and external customers to increase knowledge, efficiency, and added value to the companies.
Create audits and reporting in several systems including, AIM Analytics, Business Objects, PL SQL, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point.
Assist in the identification of requirements used to advance company audit tools and systems
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 3 years telecommunications experience in the audit/analytical function
- Proficient in SQL, MS Access, MS Excel, and Business Objects or similar programming or analytical tools
- Have a demonstrated ability to think analytically and perform responsibilities requiring close attention to detail.
- Possess the ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field or equivalent work experience.
